Celebrating our project
At the end of term we held a Comenius Presentation Assembly and exhibition. Twelve pupils shared their experience of the project with parents and friends of our school. Some of the pupils also spoke to our cluster schools at the Quedgeley Learning Community (QLC) which was held at SevernVale School.
Sharing Similarities and Differences Across Our European Partner Schools
As our Comenius Project comes to a close, we have been reflecting on the last two years: how much we have learnt through sharing with our partner schools and the experiences we have enjoyed. Please click on the link below to view our final Comic Book that shows the work from across the project.
final project visit to Slavonski Brod, Croatia!
On 19th May, three members of staff and four pupils traveled to Slavonski Brod in Croatia for the last visit in our project. The theme for this visit was 'Traditional Food' and our pupils worked hard to get our comic ready. When we visited the school, the pupils and the staff were celebrating their school year and we watched a performance of music, storytelling and dancing. On Thursday we visited the Lipizzano horse stables wh We thoroughly enjoyed our visit but it was with some sadness as we said goodbye to our partner schools.
Visit to L'ecole Turpange, near Arlon, Belgium
On Tuesday 17th March, Mr Lewis, Mrs Cartwright and four of our pupils set off to visit our partner school in Belgium. The topic was 'Sport in our Country' and we all had an interesting time learning about the different games and sports that schools across Europe play. We introduced the teachers and pupils from the other six schools to Tag rugby! On Thursday we visited the monastery at Orval which was very interesting.

These are our European characters that have been created by pupils from two of our partner schools. Each country will give them names from their own country and they will appear in our European Comic Books during the next eighteenth months. We will share our school day, food, culture and sports, amongst other things, through the comic books.
Visit to Longney
On Tuesday 14th October, the visit to Longney CE Primary school by our Comenius partner schools began. Our visitors arrived throughout the afternoon and our Comenius partner school students were given a warm welcome by their Longney host families. During the week our visitors spent time in school, joined us for a Barn Dance, visited Kingsholm and the Cathedral. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time together and many friendships were made during the week. The topic for our comic this time was geography. Click on the link to see our the comic.
