Whole school trip to Weston-Super-Mare
To finish our topic 'Our Island Home', the whole school went on a trip to Weston-Super-Mare to see where the River Severn met the sea. We had a lovely day visiting the Seaquarium, the Sand Sculpture Festival and the beach.
In June, we had a tank of elvers (baby glass eels) to look after for a few weeks. Class 1 took the elvers to the canal and released them back to the wild. We also had the opportunity to taste a piece of smoked eel! We would like to say thank you to the Severn and Wye Smokery for this experience.
Getting ready for the pantomime!
Today we took part in a pantomime workshop. We heard the story of Sleeping Beauty, learnt the songs we will be singing and got to dress up as some of the characters.
On Thursday 25th September, Class 1 and their Year 6 buddies worked together on their gardening project with Merryn from the RHS. They built a Bug House, cleared out the raised beds and worked on their Gardening Journals together. The sun was shining and everyone enjoyed being outside and learnt a lot.
This is our Irish Dancing group dancing at Wisma Mula Garden Party. They also performed at the school fete.
Michaela Breeze came to talk to Longney and Haresfield schools about how to Be the Best You Can Be.
July 2013 - During our Storytelling week we were lucky to have visits from a number of authors.
