Pupils have been taking care of a tank of elvers for the last few weeks. Today Swallow class went to the canal to release them back to their natural environment.The elvers were brought to Longney by Severn and Wye Smokery as part of their sustainable eels project. Pupils learnt about the life cycle of the eels and the incredible journey they make from the Sarogassa Sea. The children also got to taste some smoked eel!
