On Monday 2nd July, Goldfinch and Swift Class took part in a mini triathlon at Horfield Leisure Centre in Bristol. The event consisted of a 75 meter swim, 1000 meter bike ride and a 500 meter run. Everyone got a medal which was engraved with " I tried, I achieved" which is exactly what everyone did!
The triathlon was organised by the British Triathlon Trust and is known as Katie’s Legacy Mini-Triathlon. It is organised in memory of Katie Henderson, an accomplished young triathlete who tragically lost her life in an accident in 2015. Her family and friends wanted to do something that would give children the opportunity to experience the sport that Katie loved and have raised funds to hold this free event for local children.
