Inter School Sport

At Longney we firmly believe that competitive inter school sport is an integral part of our extra curricular provision. The school has always taken an active role in competing in variety of different sports against local and regional schools. For the academic year 2015-2016 we will be competing in wide variety of sporting activities such as: Tag Rugby, Football, Netball, Hockey, Cricket, Cross Country, Rowing, Athletics, Rounders, Dance and Tennis.

Some of these activities are new for this year and this is down to the School Sport Funding allowing us to enter a wider range of activities. The funding has also allowed us to experience high quality coaching in some new and exciting sports.

For an up to date list of the competitive sport we are planned to participate in please see the document above. Please note some of the dates may be provisional and some sports may be added to this as the term progresses. If there any issues about dates and sports fixtures please see Mrs Hinde or Ms Howard.

This year, with the help of the sports funding, we will be holding regular inter school competitions. Our aim is to try and ensure every child has the opportunity to compete for the school in an inter school competition.
We have also taken on board the feedback from the parents questionnaire in July and will be hosting inter-school competitions for our KS1 children as well as the older KS2 children.
