Collective Worship

Collective Worship at Longney C of E Primary Academy

"High levels of engagement are achieved during worship, with drama, storytelling and skillful questioning encouraging the children to consider and reflect. This encourages high level thinking around the themes of the school's Christian values." SIAMS report March 2019

Our daily Christian based Collective Worship plays a central part in the life of our academy. All teachers have the opportunity to lead worship across the week. We come together as a school community on Monday, Wednesday and, with our families and friends through celebration worship, on a Friday. Key Stage worship takes place on Tuesday and class worship on Thursday. We also invite members of our church, local or wider community to come and lead worship. And sometimes we celebrate worship at our Forest School or in our Spiritual Garden.

This morning Mr Rae came to share a Bible story with us about the Roman soldiers and how they thought they were the greatest. We learned that Jesus told them that if you show the value of service to others, then you are the greatest. We also thought about how Queen Elizabeth had demonstrated this value throughout her life.
