Our Ethos and Mission Statement

Our academy is a voluntary controlled Church of England academy. Longney CE Primary was founded in 1853 and began in the church of St Laurence, opposite our school before our main building was constructed and we have a strong link with the church today.

Our vision statement is 'Building Community, Enriching Lives' and this is underpinned by our motto 'Love your neighbour as yourself and treat others as you wish to be treated.' Matthew 22: 34 - 40. We work together as a community, we respect and value everyone  for who they are as Jesus taught us to do. We support each other to help everyone achieve their potential and to live 'Life in all its fullness' John 10:10

The school vision of ‘Building Community’ can be seen in the pupil’s positive attitudes towards school...... As a result, the school’s inclusive nature ensures that all are welcomed, celebrated and enabled to flourish. SIAMS report March 2019

An environment where children are valued as individuals and whose talents are given every opportunity to flourish. SIAMS report March 2014

“The core purpose of any Church school is to maximise the learning potential of every pupil within the love of God.” (Valuing All God’s Children, May 2014)
