Our Ethos and Mission Statement

Longney Church of England Primary Academy was founded in 1853 and is a Voluntary Controlled academy. It began in our parish church of St Laurence before the school was built and we still have a very strong link with the church. We have, therefore, a long history of a strong Christian Ethos and we echo the vision of the National Society that  “The core purpose of any Church school is to maximise the learning potential of every pupil within the love of God.” (Valuing All God’s Children, May 2014).
"The enthusiasm and commitment by the school’s leadership and management ensure that the pupils of Longney school have every opportunity to grow and develop into mature, knowledgeable and caring young people. The school certainly lives out the words of its mission statement, ‘building community, enriching lives’." SIAMs report 2014
